The CUP has opened the door to joining the roadmap agreed to yesterday by CDC, ERC, and pro-sovereignty organizations. CUP parliamentary representative Quim Arrufat made the announcement in a press conference in Parliament. Although he admitted that CUP "would not join at once", Arrufat said that the contents of the roadmap are "perfectly workable", as it is "open enough" that it could "combine perfectly" with that of the CUP, presented two weeks ago in Manresa.

Nevertheless, Arrufat criticized the methodology that was used to finalize the agreement. He criticized "the haste and anxiety" to present the roadmap, as well as "the staging and electioneering" of CDC and ERC. He also lamented that this pact was presented "just when CUP is in bilateral meetings to broaden" its agreement in various directions: in content and also in people to whom they will appeal.

On this point, he said that "it is not possible to establish a serious roadmap" with only two parties and three organizations. Rather, it is "necessary to broaden the way" with "tact" so as "not to exclude" other social participants and political parties, particularly ICV-EuiA, which should also be consulted so as to create a "more diverse" political space. He also asked "to talk about the constitutional process" that will begin after 27-S, in the case that pro-independence parties are victorious.

He also requested that those involved "not quarrel so much" and focus on "the items that must be coordinated" to achieve a social majority that will bring about this constitutional process.
