Scaremongering tactics have failed to put a dent in the real economy. Foreign investment in Catalonia keeps growing. In fact, the first six months of 2015 have seen a new all-time record. Foreign companies and investors spent €1,959M, an unprecedented figure in the history of Catalan economy. Not even during the real estate boom --when the economy was growing at an unreal pace-- was a figure like that ever recorded.

According to figures released --but not advertised-- but Spain’s Ministry of Economy, Catalonia drew in 280 per cent more foreign investment in the first semester, year on year. This figure is also much higher than the €1.2bn of 2012.
