MadridSources within the judiciary speaking for Europa Press reported that the Spanish Constitutional Court (TC) has agreed to lift the ban it had imposed on May 3 on Catalonia’s vacant flat tax, a bill which was passed by the Catalan Parliament.

The decision was taken during the Court’s plenary session held last week, just as the five-month cautionary suspension period was about to expire, following the court’s automatic decision to suspend the Catalan law, once the Spanish government had lodged a formal complaint against it.

Even though the temporary suspension could have been extended, the judges decided against it.
