Some 400 Catalan mayors will accompany Artur Mas in his appearance on Thursday before the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC). The Catalan president is being probed for his role in the non-binding vote of November 9 last year.
The elected officials giving support to Mas will bear the symbols of their municipal power (staff, badge, and sash of office). The picture will be very similar to that of October 4th in the Palace of the Generalitat, when they presented the president with motions from municipal assemblies formally asking him to call the 9-N consultation.
According to the Catalan Association of Municipalities and the Association of Municipalities for Independence, the delegation will be led by the presidents of the two organisations, Miquel Buch and Carles Puigdemont, respectively.
