Spain’s National Court has dismissed an appeal by the Generalitat requesting that the Spanish government pay €759 million from 2008 on account of the economic compensation provided for in the third additional provision of the Catalan Statute.

This was one of the revenue items forecast in the 2015 budget. "It’s clear that we will not meet the budget for this year", lamented Andreu Mas-Colell, Minister of Economy and Knowledge in an interview with 3/24, a Catalan news TV station. Sources in the Ministry of Economy and Knowledge told the Catalan New Agency (CNA) that the government is studying whether it will appeal the court’s decision.
