Being an actor gives you the chance of going to some places that tourists can’t go to
In the middle of June I started to shoot a film with Nicole Garcia and Marion Cotillard which will take me to Paris, Davos (Switzerland) and all over the south of France. That will take until the beginning of August. Depending on how shooting goes and the involvement and importance of the character you play you have more or less time to explore the places where you’re shooting. I don’t think I’ll have much time for sightseeing, but being an actor gives you the chance of going to some places that tourists can’t go to, like a particle accelerator in Cologne or an old bunker built by the US army. What I like most about travelling for work are the moments when I can get away and walk in the woods, which is what I plan to do in Haute Provence, or when I sit down to have a cup of coffee and to observe and converse with the local people. I think that’s the best way to get to know a place and it’s usually one of the best memories I take away with me after spending a few days in a place. When shooting is finished, I’m going to Minorca, where we have a house, with my family. Holidays there are very relaxing because we have explored the whole island and we know what we like and what we don’t. We try not to rush and get stressed and we recharge our batteries for the months ahead. I plan to finish reading ‘Jaume Sisa, el comptador d’estrelles’, which consists of conversations between the singer and the music journalist Donat Putx. I’ve also been given a biography of Andre Agassi and I’d like to read it because a lot of people have recommended it.
