In summer I like to go cycling because I’m a big racing bike enthusiast
I like to spend my summers with my family. In July I spent five days in Copenhagen with my grandchildren. I promised to take them on a trip as a present for their 10th birthday and they chose that magnificent city. I’ve seen few European capitals with such great design. It’s a very clean city in which everyone gets around by bicycle that has set itself a zero pollution goal. My grandchildren loved it, among other things because of the amusement park that lies in the city centre. It’s like having Tibidabo in Plaça Catalunya. They really enjoyed the attractions, as did my wife and myself, I must confess. In August I’ll get together with my whole family -four children and eleven grandchildren- at Mont Perdut in Huesca. Two of my children live outside Catalonia, one in Washington and another in Mozambique, and we’ll spend five days walking in the hills and going on outings, and especially spending time together, speaking to my children and grandchildren. After spending those days in the mountains we’ll come back to Catalonia and spend some time in the house that we have in Llavaneres. In summer, like during the rest of the year, I really like to go cycling - I’m a big racing bike enthusiast. I’m a member of a cycling club with a group of friends and we try to get out every day in summer. We set out very early in the morning, stop for breakfast and carry on cycling till lunchtime. I’ll also devote some time to the foundation that I manage together with my wife, which offers aid to people in need in Mozambique. I’ll be raising money with my books and my talks. I also want to set some time aside for the promotion of contemporary Catalan art, through the work we have on permanent display at Nau Gaudí in Mataró.
