I’m looking forward to a very musical summer but also I’ll go sailing and visit my parents
I’m looking forward to a very musical summer. The 21st of July is the first night of the second edition of the musical evenings at Teatre Grec de Barcelona and we’re premiering Una nit a Broadway. Until then we’ll be busy rehearsing songs by Mel Brooks and some from West Side Story sung by some of the finest voices in the country under the orders of Andreu Gallén. In August we’ll also be rehearsing another musical called 73 maneres de deixar-te, for which we’ll be working with Guillem Clua, so I’ll only be able to take 10 days off between the Grec Festival and the rehearsals for the new musical. I’ll use them to go sailing with my sister who’s a great sailor and I’ll also visit my parents who live in a small medieval village near Lleida. I’ll also try to take the odd day off in order to explore the country but I don’t think I’ll have a lot of free time. In my moments of rest I plan to take advantage of the wonderful summer nights: it’s the time I love most: enjoying the daylight till late, having dinner with friends over a bottle of good wine and talking until the early hours. And it’s great to be able to sleep late the next day; something that I can’t do very often. I also appreciate being able to see my parents again since they live quite far away and the summer is always a good time to see them again. I don’t read more books or spend more time reading since I usually read every day of the year. So I’ll carry on with my bed and book sessions - which means that I always read in bed before falling asleep. What I will be doing more of is taking in performances that I tend to miss out on during the rest of the year and I want to experience the Grec Festival, beyond the performance that I’m participating in myself. I want to live this summer surrounded by music.
