Miki Santamaria

This is the first summer that I’ll spend at home since 2011 and I’m really looking forward to it. In fact I won’t have much time to rest because since the beginning of June I’ve been on tour playing at festivals in Catalonia with the group Doctor Prat. Fortunately, I’m able to travel a bit since we’re going from one end of the country to the other and while we’re doing that I’m playing music, which is what I enjoy, so it’s not so hard. In addition, I’ve become very good friends with the musicians in the group, and there’s nothing better than a holiday with friends.

In August, once the tour is over, I plan to spend a few days on the Costa Brava with friends. I’d like take advantage of my stay to take a rest but also for sport, jogging and going to the beach. I would have liked to take a trip to a faraway place. I’ve spent the last few summers playing on cruises and travelling a lot, but that was work. Now I’d like to choose the destination myself but my work makes it impossible.

I spend the free moments I have at home re-watching old series and movies. I enjoy re-watching classic films like ‘The Godfather’. This summer I’ve started watching ‘Friends’ again. It’s a TV series that I really like. This summer I’ll carry on working on my website. It’s called Escuela de Bajistas and it’s an online academy for anyone who wants to learn to play bass. I also want to think about and work on other musical projects I have in mind, including a tribute to a well-known band whose identity I can’t disclose right now.
