This summer is going to be both typical and untypical, because I’m working again and therefore have little free time. During the first few days of summer I had to do the Barcelona-Girona-Figueres route back and forth plenty of times. But this heat makes everything more difficult. I’ve also been playing concerts, doing rehearsals and working on Sopa de Cabra’s new album. I’ll have some time off in mid-August because it’s a useless month since no one’s around and no one picks up the phone. So then, I’ll be resting, let’s say, and I’ll take advantage of my time to get a new vision of my surroundings, of the silence and the spaces. I like to walk around empty streets and those places that are away from the centre and aren’t always bustling with people. This year everything is going to be improvised and I’ll have to leave my holidays, as such, for the winter. In summer it’s difficult to find vacancies anywhere and everything is really expensive. Anyway, I’ve been meaning to go to Latin America to visit friends in Argentina and Mexico for a long time. It’s a trip that I hope to do as soon as I can. In terms of books, I love to read but this year I won’t be able to read as much as I’d like because I’m too busy writing. I’m working on a book that’ll be published next year with which I’m going to try to change reality, through a different, personal and non-official vision of years and times gone by. The end of the summer is going to be strange. Nowadays, with climate change, the seasons tend to get blurred together and professional life too. The rules are getting less and less clear, there’s less regular work and you have to earn a living in a different way. So, the summer and the autumn are going to be the same, everything is coming together. In September I’ll be preparing the new album, doing promotions, recording videos and playing concerts.
