I’ll play with my kids because I never seem to have enough time for them during the year

My summer is going to begin on the 24th of July and from that point on I’m going to improvise nonstop. My main aim is to rest. I don’t want to do anything else but take it easy and do what I feel like. I’m not planning any great trips; I’ve accumulated enough tiredness during the year and I’ll only visit nearby places like Cadaqués and the Cerdanya. I’m going to devote myself to loafing and doing nothing as my daily activity. I’ll play with my kids because I never seem to have enough time for them during the year. I like to cook and I’ll prepare picnics that we’ll take with us when we go on boar trips with our friends. We’ll sail, have lunch in an isolated cove, sunbathe and head back to port when the sun begins to set. I’m really looking forward to spending the whole day in a bikini, flip-flops and with my hair full of sea salt and for going from home to the beach and from the beach to home to be my only daily journey. I’ll take off my watch and forget about my mobile phone as much as I can, even though I’m beginning to realise that I’m getting to be something of an addict, and I’ll especially forget about the calendar. In fact, I don’t even want to plan dinners or daytrips because they have to be prepared and I have the feeling that they might be sources of stress. At most, I’ll sign up for a course but improvisation will be the rule for the other days. The month or so of holidays will also be the chance to catch up on the book I have half finished and which are usually interrupted by work-related reading. One of them is All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, and I’m also looking forward to starting Submission by Marthe Blau.
