My summer begun at the beginning of July. Until then I was very busy preparing and finishing off my collection for the 080 show in Barcelona. I only suffered the heat of the summer and was looking forward to starting my holidays. At the beginning of August I was heading to the Alps with my family. I was really looking forward to spending some time with them surrounded by nature at 1,500 metres. I wanted to lose myself in the forests, hike and go on outings. Once I’ve had enough of the mountains, coinciding with the fact that it’s starting to get cooler there, we changed the mountains for the sea. We spent a few days enjoying the beach on the Balearic Islands. August is for resting and for not thinking too much; it’s a time when I prefer not to take decisions. In September I’ll have to get back to reality and start working on my new collections. Moreover, those of us who have children can’t do anything after the 14th of September because of the start of the school term. My work doesn’t let me disconnect completely so I take advantage of the summer to think. It’s when I have more time to reflect and when I can devote myself to the more creative side of my job. The summer is when I think deeply about myself and when I decide what I’m aiming for professionally in the new season. I also take advantage of the holidays to do some reading. I’m looking forward to read the last part of Ken Follett’s Century trilogy.
