Well, the summer ahead might be a bit boring journalistically speaking. There are no holidays in my profession and we spend all the year working on projects, planning, preparing and shooting movies. I’m going to devote my whole summer to preparing and making my new film El rey de La Havana, after fighting hard to be able to make it. The film will talk about Reinaldo’s life, a youngster escaped from a reform school. We haven’t been able to get the necessary permits for filming in Cuba, and we had to go to the Dominican Republic to start shooting the film.

But having such a busy life isn’t bad at all. For me it’s fantastic to be working so much, even if it does mean having to give up on any real holiday; I just hope things carry on like this. I love swimming and almost everything related with the water, and I take advantage of any free moment to spend time in the sea or the pool. I also love to travel, but unfortunately this summer I won’t have time to go far. This year I’ve spent a lot of time in Cuba, a country that has enchanted me, and I’d go back there this summer, but I doubt if I’ll be able to. I’m going to have a very busy summer but I’m happy that way. I really hope this situation does not change and I wish I can work as hard as I’ve been doing all this time.
