Since I came home from the Champion’s League final in Berlin, where I enjoyed the great astmosphere, I’ve been working and I haven’t been away. I’m a lawyer and there’s no work in August so I have to take advantage to finish off a number of matters in July. But I do get away to Tossa de Mar at weekends. I really like the Costa Brava; for me it’s the prettiest place in the world. I won’t be able to go away on holiday this year for health reasons so I’ll be spending August in Tossa. But, like last year, I’ll also be giving talks and taking part in events and meetings for the Assemblea Nacional de Catalunya. It’s very hot in summer and Tossa is a great place for me to be because I can go for walks and spend some time with my family, my animals and my friends. There I have near plenty of friends from university and we get together to chat. Tossa de Mar has lots of places that I like to visit. One of them is Vila Vella, which is the site of the old town. It has narrow streets that are well conserved. Another is the statue and bronze plaque in honour of Ava Gardner, who shot a number of scenes for the film, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman here in 1950. I also like to go to Platja Gran and Mar Menuda beaches and walk to the lighthouse. I usually work a lot during my holidays and I always take along documents so that I can study new laws and keep myself up to date, but I forget about them after the first week. In terms of books, I’m currently reading Un hotel a la costa by Nancy Johnston and I’d like to read Xavier Sala i Martín’s novel És l’hora dels adéus?, as well as Feliços els feliços by Yasmina Reza. Towards the end of the summer I’ll go back to Barcelona and I’ll be working very hard for the 11th September commemoration and then for the 27th September autonomous elections.
